About Newington, CT - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Strategically situated approximately 6 miles southwest of Hartford and nestled between the fertile valleys of Farmington River and Connecticut River, Newington offers residents and tourists a distinctive combination of being close to major shopping and employment areas while at the same time enjoying a serene and charming country environment. Newington, which means a new town in the meadow, was once an area in the town of Wethersfield until 1871. The town seal features Mill Pond Falls, a natural waterfall located at the Mill Pond Park and is famed for being the smallest of its kind in the country. Mill Pond Park is a popular place to visit particularly during Annual Newington Extravaganza held every July. As a tribute to the falls’ popularity and contribution to the history of the town, Waterfall Festival is held every September in the center of the town.

Majority of Newington are residential areas, although there is a good amount of commercial businesses in the Newington Center and along the Berlin Turnpike. This family-friendly community boasts of well-maintained park facilities and public amenities, such as tennis courts and swimming pools. As a town with historic roots, Newington is home to three historic districts, namely Newington Junction North, South and West, and various historical landmarks such as the Gen. Martin Kellogg House, Newington Junction Railroad Depot and Willard Homestead, among others. Newington is also home to National Iwo Jima Memorial Monument, the only flag-raising monument in memory of the Americans killed in the Battle of Iwo Jima.

Newington, along with other areas in the New England region, enjoys the beauty of having four seasons. Although winter can be harsh in this delightful Hartford suburb, crisp air and deep snows can be invigorating. During spring and summer, residents and tourists can experience balmy to humid days and cool nights. Around fall time, the spectacular splash of colors from changing foliage is a remarkable sight. January is the coldest month with a minimum temperature averaging at 16 degrees Fahrenheit, while July is the warmest month with a maximum temperature averaging at 83 degrees Fahrenheit.
